Cu Language
A programming language based on the principles of Accessibility, Performance, and Control.
View Documentation VersionsWhat is Cu?
Cu is a programming language named after the chemical symbol for copper (atomic number 29). Source files use the extension .cu29.
The initial implementation is in Python, building a dedicated lexer, parser, and execution engine. Classes are not adopted in the initial specification.
Intended uses: general programming, embedded systems, RTOS, and potentially spacecraft onboard software in the future (the initial version does not claim full support for all of these).
Design Philosophy (Three Principles)
Accessibility
Usable by a wide range of people. Aiming for a language that is easy to learn and supports diverse developers and applications.
Performance
Pursuing processing performance from the design stage. Considering execution speed and memory usage in the language and runtime design.
Control
Enabling appropriate control from software to hardware. Considering the characteristics of the execution environment and hardware.
